Well… here we go again!
After spending the past year building Heart of Daggers, our Daggerheart platform, we’ve decided to take everything we’ve learned and bring that same passion to another incredible TTRPG community.
Introducing Steel Drawn!
Steel Drawn is a brand-new, independent marketplace and community platform built specifically for MCDM’s Draw Steel.
Our goal is simple. We want to give third-party creators a dedicated place to showcase their work, build their reputation, connect with players, and earn more from their creativity.
And we’re not stopping at the Marketplace. We’re already developing tools to make running and playing Draw Steel easier, with our Encounter Manager and Homebrew Vault getting close to release!
We’re incredibly excited to finally share this with you. So, let’s talk about what we’re building!
A Marketplace Built for Draw Steel
There are already some incredibly amazing third-party supplements being created for Draw Steel.
A lot of this content is scattered across Reddit, Discord, Patreon, Facebook, and various other platforms. And while those communities are fantastic for sharing your work, great content can quickly disappear beneath the next hundred posts.
We want Steel Drawn to be somewhere your creations can have a permanent home.
Somewhere players and Directors can discover your work, explore your catalogue, follow your progress, and support you directly. Whether you’ve published fifty supplements or you’re working on your very first creation, we want to help you find an audience.
Creators Earn 85% of Every Sale!
This is something we’re particularly passionate about.
Creators on Steel Drawn receive 85% of their product sales. We take just 15%.
No exclusivity requirements. No pressure to sell only through us.
Your work belongs to you, and you should have the freedom to sell it wherever you want.
For comparison, DriveThruRPG’s standard non-exclusive royalty rate is 65%, meaning the platform retains 35%. We think there’s room for a better deal for independent creators… especially in 2026.
Our approach isn’t about locking creators into a platform. It’s about building something useful enough that creators genuinely WANT to be here. And we’ve already seen this approach work! Over the past year, independent creators have generated nearly $100,000 in sales through Heart of Daggers. That has been incredible to watch, and we’d love to help Draw Steel creators find similar opportunities.
Completely AI-Free. No Exceptions.
Another important part of Steel Drawn is our commitment to human creativity.
We do not allow AI-generated or AI-assisted creative content on our Marketplace.
We believe the artists, writers, designers, and creators who spend countless hours developing their supplements deserve recognition and support.
Every submitted supplement goes through a review process before being approved for sale. Our team is committed to maintaining a marketplace where human creativity comes first, and it is rewarded 🙂
We’re Building Tools, Too!
Now, this is the part we’re especially excited about!
While the Marketplace is our starting point, we’ve always envisioned Steel Drawn becoming much more than somewhere to buy and sell PDFs. We want it to become a useful home for Draw Steel players and Directors.
1. Encounter Manager
Our Draw Steel Encounter Manager is getting close to release.
We’re building it to make encounter preparation and management easier for Directors, with a focus on keeping everything organised and accessible during play.
Our experience building the Encounter Manager for Heart of Daggers has taught us a huge amount, but we’re taking the time to build something that works specifically with Draw Steel’s mechanics.
We can’t wait to show you more.
2. Homebrew Vault
Alongside the Encounter Manager, we’re also working on the Homebrew Vault!
The goal is to give Directors and creators a dedicated space to build, organise, and manage custom Draw Steel content.
We want to make homebrew easier to create, easier to find, and ultimately easier to bring into your games.
And yes, we’re thinking about how these tools can work together too!

Their approach to third-party creation through the Draw Steel Creator License is an important part of what makes projects like Steel Drawn possible.
Giving independent creators the opportunity to build on a game they love, publish their work, and earn from their creativity is something we really appreciate.
Steel Drawn is an independent fan-built platform and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by MCDM. We’re fans of Draw Steel who want to contribute something meaningful to its community.

We’re at the very beginning of this journey. There will be bugs. There will be features that need improving. There will probably be a few things we’ve completely overlooked.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned from Heart of Daggers is that the best ideas often come directly from the people using the platform.

We want to build this alongside the community, not just for it.
Final Thoughts
Starting a new platform is exciting, slightly terrifying, and a ridiculous amount of work.
But if there’s one thing we’ve learned from building Heart of Daggers, it’s how rewarding it can be to see a community come together around something you’ve created.
We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has already shown interest in Steel Drawn, and we hope to earn the trust and support of Draw Steel creators, players, and Directors over time.
